Invisalign/Clear Aligners

What is Invisalign or Clear Aligners?

Have you ever thought about having straight teeth but didn’t like the idea of walking around with wires and brackets on your teeth? Here at Beacon Hill Dental Center in Burlington we offer Invisalign (clear aligner treatment) which are revolutionary systems that allow you to straighten your teeth. These clear aligners are suitable for all ages. You can forget about the brackets and wires and enjoy all your food comfortably without anyone noticing them! Invisalign aligns the teeth which allows the teeth, muscles and jaws to work in a harmonious relationship. This harmonious relationship results in great long term health benefits as they leave teeth less susceptible to decay, gums less susceptible to gum disease and results in an even distribution of the chewing load on the jaw and muscles. Best of all, you will have a beautiful and confident smile to show off to family and friends! The terms Invisalign and Clear Aligners are used interchangeably and they refer to the same type of treatment, unless specified by the treating dentist.

Why would Invisalign be needed?

Most often, Invisalign (Clear Aligners) is recommended to patients who have crowding, spaces, misaligned and unevenly spaced teeth. If you’ve never had braces previously or didn’t maintain your orthodontic results as you got older, Invisalign is a wonderful alternative to traditional metal and wire braces. They are best suited to teens and adults who can commit to wearing the clear aligners. You will find that this results in properly aligned teeth are easier to care for, ensuring optimal oral health.
What Happens During Invisalign Treatment

Who is a candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign is for anyone who wants to improve their oral health and smile. Our Invisalign patients range from kids to adults. Patients love Invisalign because they are virtually invisible, more comfortable and require less visits and adjustments than traditional braces.

What happens during Invisalign treatment?

To begin your treatment with Invisalign, we’ll take x-rays, impressions and photos of your teeth and smile. This enables us to comprise a treatment plan that is specific to your unique needs. The impressions are used to craft clear aligners that you’ll be instructed to wear most of the day and night. You will need to come back into the office after a few weeks to check on the progress of the treatment and new trays are given. Treatment can take anywhere from six months to 2 years to complete depending on how severely crowded or misaligned your teeth currently are.
