Snoring and Sleep Apnea Treatment

What Do I Do If I Have Sleep Apnea or Chronic Snoring?

Have you been told that you snore when you sleep? Do you feel tired and irritable during the day? These can be signs of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It was originally thought that only middle-aged men suffer from (OSA), but recently we discovered that anyone can have the condition including children, men and women of all ages. As dentists here at Beacon Hill Dental Centre we care about your overall health. We continue to train and learn more about this condition that affects us in more ways than other conditions.

In the long term, the continuous stress on our bodies of not having a restful sleep can cause many underable health conditions such high blood pressure as heart disease. It can also affect your mouth by causing you to have dry mouth and even clench and grind your teeth which can damage your teeth and joints.

The common treatment to Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) device. However, it is difficult for many people to tolerate CPAP, but an Oral Sleep Appliance (OSA) is as effective and much easier to tolerate.
